Entertaining kindergardeners??? Help please!?
My little sister is having a “Hula – Bug Out” Birthday at the end of the month. Hula as in hawaii, tropical theme and Bug OUt as in bugs and safari stuff. I know its weird, but that’s what she wanted and she IS the b-day girl. I ended up being in charge and I need some ideas for how to entertain these kids!! They are all 5 or 6!
So far I was thinking of having different stations cause there are about 35-40 kids coming…
Guy coming with a bunch of exotic bugs
Cotton candy machine, pizza, chips. etc.
crafts station
and that’s it.
Any Ideas??? Thanks!

Kids LOVE COLOR… Keep that in mind throughout this whole thing. Face painting is an awsome one as well. Maybe a ball tos game where you pair up the kids, each team gets a bouncy ball or larger, they throw it back and forth to eachother. When they drop it they are out and need to sit down. When the last team is standing they get a prize!
Another Idea might be to have a food craft station.
IDEA: Edible Bugs
Tools neededper child
1 TWINKY (Body) or Hotses Cup Cake for Spider
3 REDVINES cut in half( Legs)
2 jelly beans (Eyes)
Assorted small candies for decorating
Frosting tube for decoration Glue
This is great to do in agroup of 10 or so at a time, Then when they are done they can eat their creation!!
Make bugs out of milk cartons and pipe cleaners, Sequins for colorful decoration.
Maybe a jumper. Kids love to jump and this will help with alot of the hyperness. Have an adult stationed at the jumper at all times. No shoes allowed! LOL
Hope I helped! Have fun. Kids are great!
That sounds insane and also like a total blast!
You could have magnifying glasses for party favors along with lays lol… they can then use them with the bug guy.
the stations idea sounds great!
Have music because kids that age love to dance. Grass skirts yes for the boys too (if they want them) lol. Musical chairs, bean bag toss (you can have them aim at a giant bug u cut out or draw on cardboard).
Balloons, Make the table decorations for the “hula” part of it with giant flowers and the Hawaii print.
Kids that age still like bubbles so you can really entertain them easily with a bubble station. Have diff bubble devices like pipe cleaners, straws and string (you take the straw, cut it in half, string through and then tie to make a loop. Then you dip it in the bubble solution with the straws closed together, pull out and open them .. beautiful bubbles).
I made a butterfly cake for my daughter. You simply make a double layer cake (round), cut it in half, put a twinky in the middle for the body and place the half rounds so that the flat part is facing out like wings. Frost it how you want. I also made some cupcakes with “bug bites from Graham cracker” on top that I decorated with frosting. It was awesome!
That is all I can think of for now.
Blessings and have fun!
