I’ve never heard οf flying cockroaches οח tһе west coast, οחƖу tһе east coast, аחԁ tropical climates. Coincidentally, mу neigbors јυѕt mονеԁ tο Florida, аחԁ tһеу аrе חοt very fond οf mе. Maybe tһеу bred tһе bugs Ɩіkе іח tһе movie “Pacific Heights”, аחԁ рυt tһеm іח mу apartment. Wһаt ԁο уου tһіחk?

Southern california is a semi tropical climate. All cockroaches can fly.

EDIT: SOME not all cockroaches can fly. Not at all uncommon though.

I had giant ones in my apartment too. They are really scary. Fortunately I only had to deal with a few of them. Get a big athletic shoe and stomp them out. Hard. If there are more than 3 or 4 that you have to deal with, you should tell your landlord/management company to do something about them. Because they’re really frightening, I know what you’re talking about.

In Florida, they’re not cockroaches, they’re
“palmetto bugs”…..Anyway, living in an apartment, I think you’re pretty much gonna be dealing with cockroaches anyway. And, yes they all fly at some stage in their life. Tell your landlord. Boric acid is supposed to kill them as well.

Oh my goodness! I didnt know roaches could fly! I live in North Carolina and we have roaches outside in the pinestraw and they scare the crap out of me! my dad got the exterminating company to spray some stuff on them to kill them. it works really good – you just have to deal with getting rid of the dead ones.
good luck!

It’s an extremely unpleasant consequence of living that far south. I recommend that you move north to Portland or Seattle, not only to get away from the insect cockroaches but from the human ones!

The livability of your city and the quality of your life will improve significantly!
