is the weather always nice in Hawaii and neighboring islands or is it too humid .?
i always picture tropical islands as being beautiful but a friend of mine said that there warm year round but not at all comfortable, he said it is always humid and sticky and there are tons of bugs that never leave you alone and that it is the most miserable place he had ever been. is this true? im not even sure he really ever went to Hawaii so i dont know what to beleive.

humid, big cockroaches, centipedes, cane spiders, mice, rats. yes its all true
Well I was on Oahu and Maui for a couple of weeks during the summer and it was never humid, I never saw a bug. It was beautiful every day. Perfect weather. Breezy, warm, paradise
Now maybe I was just lucky…
Most of the time, even when it is hot, we have trade winds that help keep things comfortable. But when we have “Kona weather”, when the winds drop off, then it gets pretty humid. But nowhere near as muggy as Boston in August. Kona weather seems to happen most often in the late sumer & fall.
Bugs? Yeah, we got ‘em. But they aren’t in your face. There are large, flying cockroaches that tend to make newcomers nervous, but you see them inside once in a while, not like an infestation. In the tropics, you’ve got to expect some bugs. I’ll trade them for snow any day.
I think your friend is getting mixed up with his islands!
It’s not really warm year round. It does get cold during the winter
months but it’s bearable. There are trade winds which everybody is happy to get-especially on a summer day-because that means it’ll be cool. Kona wind makes the islands humid.
As far as bugs go they’re bugs. They’re not pestering but they’re there.
The eastern sides of the islands are much cooler than the western side. The winter months are the most comfortable for me.
I was there for 7 days in October of ’06 (Oahu). It was beautiful. It was not humid, never saw a bug and the doors to the hotel were open (18th floor) nearly constantly. It rained heavily one day (fairly warm rain) and lightly another day. Other than that it was 80′ish and fantastic.
In Summer maybe this isn’t the case. Maybe on other islands this isn’t the case either, but for me it was.
Will be going to one of the other islands again in October….we’ll see how things go.
normally showers in afternoon on lea-wood side of islands its only water enjoy
I can honestly say I never have been there and it was humid. There is always a nice breeze. You may get rain showers on the northern sides but you can usually head to another part or change elevation and find the weather you are looking for.
Southern sides are usually arid while norther sides are more lush with showers.
Its the tropics so there may be some roaches and mosquitoes in certain areas but nothing major.
Your friend is not describing Hawaii. It is not like that at all. None of it is true.
