Why not plant tropical fruit trees in Africa ?
Posted by Tropical Gardener on Nov 4, 2009 under Tropical Fruits
African countries seem to always face food and water scarcity , so I was thinking that will planting of tropical fruit trees growing in Indian subcontinent and which can survive in arid areas , help the people of Africa.
These trees bear fruit and should help reduce the impact of food scarcity in this region.
What do you think ?
I was thinking of trees like tamarind, berries (bor), jamun etc.
Jack-fruirs in tropical areas, rich and delicious food, raw and ripenned, preparing vegetables, chutney, (raw) and they are very tasty / sweeter, eating and making the ’sharbat’.
