Suggested plants for a tropical garden?

I’m looking at putting in a nice tropical style garden. I’m in queensland Australia and was wondering what type of plants would look nice and survive? Also, any suggestions for a design? Thanks!

Croton is usually pretty hardy. I’d definately use palms as well. Talk with someone at your local nursery. If you’re in a warm enough climate you should find plenty of selection locally.

This is not a plant suggestion really, but I think it’d be cool to add a water feature such as a fountain that resembles ruins…something Machu Picchu-ish ;)
